POST -TRAINING
After completing the initial training, each trainee will meet with studio owner, Carly—either one-on-one or in small groups—for additional practice, guidance, and preparation to become an instructor at SLO x FORM. Trainees will also have access to the studio to refine their skills. We encourage you to invite family and friends to join you as you practice teaching routines—this is an important step in building confidence and readiness to lead classes at SLO x FORM.
Additional Details:
The SLO x FORM Teacher Training covers the modern Pilates method we train at SLO x FORM, SRT [Slow-Resistance Training]. You'll learn the SRT Method and exercises, along with their modifications and variations taught on our XFormers. The lectures offer knowledge in stabilization, breathing, alignment and proper muscle recruitment, as well as considerations for spring loading and handlebars adjustment. You'll learn the goal of each exercise, verbal/tactile cues, common postural adjustments, and how to work around special considerations and safety issues. The course not only focuses on the exercise science but also on the instructional skills which is a vital component for the effectiveness and safety of each class. Teaching is an art that must be perfected through practice. Each day will include lecture, hands-on practice, and mock teaching to learn and improve teaching skills. The goal after three days? You’ll be able to build and execute a full 50-minute SLO x FORM routine. You’ll know how to build a playlist, own the room as an instructor, and have the tools you need to begin your teaching journey and deepen your own modern Pilates practice.
*Teaching experience is not required to attend. Employment is not guaranteed, however, that is the goal of the training.
