CERTIFICATION DATES: FRIDAY, APRIL 10TH - SUNDAY, APRIL 12TH!
The certification is hosted by world-renowned Master Trainer Piper Michelle. Throughout the course of the training, you’ll learn the SRT Method and exercises, along with their modifications and variations taught on our XFormers. The training not only focuses on the exercise science but also on the instructional skills for teaching XFormer Pilates classes. Teaching is an art that is developed through practice. Each day will include lecture, hands-on practice, and mock teaching to learn and improve teaching skills.
After completing the initial certification weekend, there will be four additional SLO x FORM Training sessions hosted by owner, Carly —for additional practice, guidance, and preparation for potential instructor opportunities at SLO x FORM. Each training will have a different theme for instructor development and preparation.
Prior experience taking XFormer Pilates classes is required. Group fitness teaching experience is preferred, though not required.

The SLO x FORM Teacher Training covers the modern, XFormer Pilates method we train at SLO x FORM, SRT [Slow-Resistance Training]. You'll learn the SRT Method and exercises, along with their modifications and variations taught on our XFormers. The lectures offer knowledge in stabilization, breathing, alignment and proper muscle recruitment, as well as considerations for spring loading and handlebars adjustment. You'll learn the goal of each exercise, verbal/tactile cues, common postural adjustments, and how to work around special considerations and safety issues. The course not only focuses on the exercise science but also on the instructional skills which is a vital component for the effectiveness and safety of each class. Teaching is an art that must be developed through practice. Each day will include lecture, hands-on practice, and mock teaching to learn and improve teaching skills.
The goal after three days? You’ll be able to build and execute a full 50-minute SLO x FORM routine. You’ll know how to build a playlist, own the room as an instructor, and have the tools you need to begin your teaching journey and deepen your own modern Pilates practice.

POST-CERTIFICATION SLO x FORM TRAINING SESSIONS
After completing the initial certification weekend, there will be four additional SLO x FORM Training sessions hosted by owner, Carly, for additional practice, guidance, and preparation for potential instructor opportunities at SLO x FORM. Each training will have a different theme for instructor development and preparation.
The goal of these trainings is to deepen understanding of key concepts and movements, introduce SLO x FORM-specific nuances, answer questions, provide hands-on instructing practice, and deliver individualized feedback for improvement.
Beginning April 13th, trainees will also have access to the studio during designated off-hours to practice and refine their skills. Consistent practice is a critical step in building confidence and preparing to lead classes in a group fitness environment.
Post-Certification Training Session Dates: April 18th, 19th, 25th & 26th

STUDIO PRACTICE, MOCK CLASSES, & COMMUNITY CLASSES
Studio Practice: Beginning April 13th, following the certification weekend, trainees will have access to the studio during designated off-hours to independently practice and refine their skills. Consistent practice is key to building confidence and developing strong teaching presence.
Trainees are encouraged to host practice sessions for friends and family during approved off-hours at SLO x FORM to help rehearse full routines and prepare for mock classes.
This practice is an essential step in building confidence, strengthening cues, and developing readiness to lead group classes.
Mock Classes: Once trainees feel prepared, their first Mock Class will be scheduled. Mock Classes are practice classes taught to other instructors and/or a trainee’s invited friends or family.
Each trainee will complete approximately 1–3 mock classes, depending on readiness and development progress. Following each mock class, Carly will provide individualized one-on-one feedback to support continued growth and improvement.
Community Classes: Once trainees have successfully been cleared from the mock class phase, they may progress into Community Classes. Community Classes are discounted, scheduled classes taught by trainees for SLO x FORM members and clients.
All trainees are required to teach a minimum of two Community Classes.
