About Us!
Carly Macauley
Carly grew up in Denver, Colorado, where her journey into fitness began early when she first stepped into a dance studio—a passion that evolved into a dedicated and competitive dance career throughout high school and college. Her first introduction to group fitness classes came during her time at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where she found a love for movement in a variety of class formats. After college, Carly moved to San Diego, where she dove deeper into her fitness journey. In 2014, Carly discovered XFormer Pilates, which quickly captivated her. She was amazed by how her body responded after just one class, feeling a deep soreness in muscles she hadn’t engaged before. After a month of taking XFormer classes, she recognized significant changes in her body appearing more toned, lean, and strong in ways no other workout had delivered. The method was efficient, challenging, and incredibly empowering. She was hooked!
Driven by her passion, Carly practiced consistently and became a certified instructor, embracing the method and the lifestyle surrounded by it. She’s been teaching ever since—sharing the benefits of this transformative method while building connections and confidence with clients from all walks of life!
Throughout the years, Carly nurtured a dream— to open her own studio in San Luis Obispo. She and her husband, Ian, fulfilled their aspirations of making Morro Bay home in November 2024. It was time for Carly’s dream to become a reality! In April 2025, Carly founded SLO x FORM— a space created from passion, purpose, and community.
Carly couldn’t be more excited to welcome you to SLO x FORM—your new favorite fitness community, where every shake, sweat, and connection helps you feel stronger and more at home. She is beyond thrilled to cultivate an inspiring, empowering, and tight-knit community here at SLO x FORM—a place of genuine connection and support.
